The reading challenge: February results

- March 4, 2025
I’ve been reading every day for two months now!
February turned out less productive in the number of books read than January, but it is the shortest month. Instead, it became Palahniuk Month for me ❤️. I studied his work more deeply: listened to lectures, analysed texts and immersed myself in his style.
What did I read in February?
Chuck Palahniuk:
- “Survivor”
- “Invisible Monsters”
What I’m reading now:
- “Neuromarketing copywriting” — about how text works at the level of the brain.
- “The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle” — immersing myself in Haruki Murakami’s world.
- “It” — reading as part of a literature course, but I’ve loved King for a long time, so reading it even at night isn’t scary!
- “Fight Club” — reading Palahniuk in English for the first time, and it was a great idea.
Observations on reading
- Murakami is best read before bed — he works like meditation. King is for daytime, he gives you adrenaline. And I do it the other way around 😅.
- You can overdose on Palahniuk 💀.
- I meant to read two books at once, and now I’m reading four.
- There isn’t enough time for evening reading, and it’s annoying!

FAQ
How many books were read in February?
Fewer than in January (12 books with full analysis) — February is the shortest month. The month’s main focus was Chuck Palahniuk’s work: “Survivor” and “Invisible Monsters”.
What is Palahniuk Month?
February in the reading challenge was devoted to Chuck Palahniuk: books were combined with lectures about him and analysis of his texts, to understand the author’s style more deeply rather than just re-read a list of works.
How are reading results recorded?
Every book goes through an analysis system: the context of the era, the author, their motives and conclusions. The analysis is kept in a book-analysis template, so the month’s results can be shown as a list of what was read plus the main takeaways.
